View Case Study SGR1-0085 - Healthy Soils for Healthy Farms

This project aims to develop skills and knowledge of sustainable agriculture, managing soil fertility and structure, and how healthy soil contributes to improved farm production. This will involve training events throughout the region to provide information on understanding soil fertility, soil structure, soil carbon management, property planning, and grazing management. Information will be provided via on-line forums, pod-casts, and printed material for field days and conferences. Farmers will conduct soil tests which will be interpreted with advice from independent agronomists to show how specific management practices influence a range of soil properties.

This project has been funded under the National Landcare Programme - Sustainable Agriculture Small Grants Round 2015-16, with the purpose of safeguarding the overall resilience, competitiveness and productivity of Australian agricultural and fishing industries.
